H22 vw polo HELPPP start up
Im pretty sure that there a write up to do away with the immobilizer somewhere, not to familiar with 5th gens.
You probably should of converted to obd1. Or just go ahead and convert to obd1.
But I like the swap. Original

Yes you will need to go OBD1 on that motor to bypass the immobilizer.
Another option on the wiring is to go with WireWorx H22 harness, all new wiring and it will go from the engine into your cabin bypassing your original wiring.
This harness bypasses most of the original wiring all the way to the ECU, it only needs to tap certain signal wires from your own original chassis harness like Tach signal, ignition coil etc. Not that much else.
With their OBD1 harness you will not need that jumper harness anymore and it is all OBD1.
Xavier is outstanding at helping to get the small details working.
Since yours is a one off, I highly recommend Xavier - WireWorx, he can help you get your swap done correctly while at the same time cleaing up your engine bay.
