Default Getting ready 2 copp a 5th gen!!

I'm an owner of a '99 Nordic Mist Lude and I'm looking to add another Honda to my fleet('99Lude, '96Volvo 850 T5 & '90 Maxima). My max is kinda the DD but she is still my baby...she's the digi dash/HUD/Sonar Suspension model with plenty of mods at 160,000 miles on the odo. My Lude is my other baby and I've gotten as close to stage 0 as possible with the exception of suspension upgrades for future boost plans. Now I'm looking to buy another Honda and I've always wanted to copp a '96 Accord. What model is top shelf among 5thgen enthusiast USDM? It's gotta be a manual of course and a 4door sedan. Almost forgot, he's asking 2500.

IMO, the top shelf USDM model for the 5th gen Sedan is the CD5 EX Accord. F22B1, 2.2L I4, VTEC, w/5 speed or A/T. I would personally stay away from the EX-V6 for this gen. I see that you're looking for a manual trans, so the V6 would be out anyway. Good choice on the M/T!

The new V6 accord is pretty hot but im sure its very exspensive.

I think the CB7 Accord is the best... 92-93 Ex with the F22a6 but the f22a4 is pretty nice too and can make pretty good power for cheap

CB accords are a very Aries K style. Sure the F22A is the bomb...for a 20+ year old engine... However for a daily with minimal mods the 5th gen, hands down is better looking and has better daily street smarts. I may be a bit biased, however I can very easily see why the OP is going for the 5th gen over the 4th gen. It's all in the Style!

The usdm vtec model only came w/sohc right? probably go for vtec model...I know later models have a bit more where it counts but I'm not feeling any of the newer models.

Yes, SOHC VTEC F22B1. Only the EDM and JDM came with the DOHC VTEC, F20B or H22A

The H swap is a pretty common engine swap for the 5th gen.

It's been a while but I think I finally found a potential CD5...1994 M/T EX. It's very clean(white exterior) with a dark tan cloth interior(rather have leather) but interior is immaculate. It comes with black rims w/chrome lip and has color matching lip kit, looks factory but the Accord is not my strong point concerning available USDM options in '94. It doesn't have a spoiler but that could have been removed since the paint looks clean enough to be aftermarket. Unfortunately after breaking/loosing 3 androids my present cell takes terrible pics, so I have none to post. I'm going try to get this guy to bring it to my job to put in the air so I can get good look of what I'm dealing with or atleast pull up on my ramps in his driveway(I shock sum when i pull ramps out of trunk). Need suggestion/inside tips if any of places that concern CD5 owners, I know the 5 speed has good reputation(especially compared to Honda A/T's of that era). What area's usually leak first on the motor(cam seal, oil cooler, head gasket, ect..)? Interested in any/all info pertaining to this gen accord, thanks.

Buy a motorcycle and terrorize innocent families, jk jk. Valve cover gasket usually goes first as well as the spark plug tube seals. There are two sets of sp seals, upper and lower. Oil pan after that. Cam seal gets replaced during timing belt jobs so that shouldn't be an issue. HG is solid in accords, I'm sure ricer will disagree since he had to replace his. Just take it for a spin and listen for anything out of the ordinary.

Looks like it has similar issues that are common with the H22 motor.

The 1995 model Accord that has a 5 speed is just the ex or is there another model? I know the V6 model is A/T but not sure about the non VTEC models.

No, the other trim levels (Non VTEC F22B2) also came with a 5sp option as well.

There are no lower spark plug seals on a F22B1 (VTEC) engines. Only on the F22B2's and 90-93 Accords (F22A's).

My mistake, figured both of those engines would have two sets. Did you end up buying that '94 Shiloh?

I was trying to meet up with the guy and he said he sold it! I've been looking @ more but none are as clean as that one except a/t models(no,no). The search continues...what is a good price in ur opinion for a 94-97 ex 5speed model?

Shitty deal. Well it's kind of hard to pin point an exact price on a Honda sometimes. I find that the price is based mainly on mileage and trim level. I would say around 2700-3600 for a clean 5 spd ex accord with a reasonable amount of mileage. The price could go up if it were to have lower mileage and was garaged/babied. I find the ppl who take care of their cars, always keep the service records accordingly.
