Icon6 2008 Honda Civic won't build rpm's

This just started. The other day, we got snow. The day before, car ran perfect. The day after, I go to start it up and warm it up heading to work, and it almost wouldn't start, got it started, runs like poop. It sputters and won't build rpm's well at all. If I keep my foot on the gas it eventually does but I tried moving it and it died. I had to burn my clutch a little in order to move it out of the way in the driveway. Also the Malfunction Indicator Lamp is now on and blinking. I can't drive it to a Honda dealership or even NAPA to have it looked at. Any one know what this probably is? Distributor etc? Please help? I didn't need this right before Christmas!!!!!

Sounds like your coil is taking a dump.
I'd also change the spark plugs.

What code is it throwing?

That's the thing, there are no codes, just the malfunction light blinking.

I wish it would throw me a number or something... that's why I decided to start researching online in hopes that someone might have an idea. Just stupid. It ran just fine one day and then 2 days later with not starting it in bitter cold temps, it runs like this? Really? I though Honda was the most reliable car on the planet. I have had more problems with this thing than ANY OTHER VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED.

Cold whether is harsh on any car..

If you think Honda is the most reliable make, you are sadly mistaken. You do not have a distributor. And you do infact have codes (dtc's), that is why your mil is blinking. (It blinks to tell you cat damage can and/or is occuring due to severe misfire and/or poor fuel mapping). One faulty ign coil will not cause this severe of an issue. Based on your above comments, I highly recommend towing it to your local Honda and having a tech diag it and repair it.

well ure car doesnt run distributor.. its a coil over plug system.. do you have any check engine lights. misfire codes like p0300,301,302,303,304? if so take the plug and switch it with another one and see if the misfire travels to the next cylinder. if it does ure coil burnt out and u need a new one

I do believe I am going to have it towed to Honda. I don't know the first thing about a Honda engine..... obviously, distributor.... blah, blah, blah. Towing and repairing there is my best bet. They built this hunk of... they can fix it.

I might have found the problem. I am posting a stock photo and there is a white circle around the part. What is this called?

Both of the outside "what ever these are called" cables' cords are exposed and one of these has three wires and they are not in contact any longer.

Recap, mice chewing on the copper wiring on the coils. So now I have that fixed AND my engine smells like a girl. *rolling eyes* plus Decon under the car and vehicles parked in my driveway. Pffffft. I make car payments for what?!?!?!? So the neighborhood flipping mice can have something to chew on?!?!?!? I don't think so! Fabric Softener sheets inside the car, bars of soap under the hood and Decon under them. Oy!!!!

Thank you for all the comments. I did read them all and I do appreciate them! Have a great new year, You All!
