99 civic leaking water passenger side
Been searching through similar threads on here but haven't found an answer, so here it goes. I have a 99 civic dx hatch and i noticed the other day the front passenger floor was soaked, and i pulled up the carpet and there was literally a puddle. So i ripped apart the area and removed the ecu and found after being in the rain the water is streaming in right from behind/above where the ecu is located. No idea where it is entering the car, however. So I was wondering if anyone had similar issues with the same year hatch, as I know eg's had a recall with the seam sealer, but i don't think that's the issue here. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Jeez. Take a hose. Get a friend. One of you get in car. One of you pour water over car. When it starts gushing when water is poured over a certain spot you've found your leak. Fix it.
ok, well it wasnt as simple as that. luckily i just got advice on a local forum to remove the a pillar panel because someone had a similar issue and water was leaking in from the top corner of the windshield, running down the a pillar, and right to where the ecu is. By removing the panel i saw the water actually running down the pillar. So i guess i found the source
Usually, not always but usually it's just dirt/pine needles/ other random debris underpriced around the weatherstripping on the door. Try pulling back the weatherstripping, clean it and the door. I literally just had to do this in mine. Same goes for tail lights and head lights. I have a EK hatch and just did my doors and tail lights. Had the same exact issue. Just in case it happens again, try that.
