hi everybody i purchased a new itr trans from h-t member about year ago brand new in the box. everything works changed fluid twice since mounting trans on block only using oem manual trans fluid from honda. at about 7200 rpms in second gear pops out of gear can anybody tell me what could be cause ing this? trans has less than 800 miles. **** linkage is good as worked great on ls trans i had before any help would be great thanks.

 

2nd gear sleeve needs replacement........the cogs are worn, most likely from poor shifting/grinding @ high RPM into 2nd

 

Highly unlikely. Check the motor mounts first. If they're fine then the trans needs to be opened.

 

Yep, that's what I'd check first also with such low miles on the trans.

 

I had a customer back in the day with a pop out issue. Ended up being a slightly bent linkage. I would go over everything front to back. Shifter, shifter bushings, make sure the bolts that hold every thing in are good. Sucks to break open a tranny and its not the issue.

thanks guys well mounts are good hasport motor mounts. my shift linkage does have a dent in it but i know its not it cause i previously had a ls trans in my car before with the same linkage and never had a problem. i switched out shiftlinkage bushing to urethane from prothane. i may just buy a new shift linkage for a gsr and see what it does because there is a issue with the linkage i have now feels like it clicks from side to side in neutral. i will keep you guys up to date
