Emblem install help?!? Face palm
Ok, feel free to flame me for this.
Im having issues installing a rear OEM emblem I bought for my eg hatch. Part number is 75701-sr3-000 . I checked on Hondapartscheap.com and the part number matches.
When I try to put the emblem in, it appears that the pins on the back of the emblem look much bigger than the holes on my tailgate. I didn't want to force it in because the emblem looks fragile.
Please....help....I....have.....been.....defeated. ...by....an....emblem

So with the "tubular clips" on the nubs it doesn't fit?

and NO I WILL NOT drill my hatch!

ummm..the point is pride of ownership. I don't want to drill into my hatch for something so small like an emblem. I would like to keep my hatch unhacked as possible because my car is super clean and original.
This is the type of attitude that resonates throughout this Honda community that makes people think its ok to build ghetto hacked up ricer cars.

does your tailgate still have the old white plastic pin housing?
you can try to install your bnew emblem by removing the white plastic on the picture

At least ... that's one possibility.
Ok, I just removed the "tubular clips". It's pissing rain right now and I rather not go outside.
Do I still need to use double sided tape?

If the emblem has a slight curve to it, than it should be going on the hood. But like I said, I could be wrong since a hatch is different from a coupe.
yup, hatch emblem is smaller than the others. I would just plug the holes with something, but that's me.
I agree with rickrabies. What's the big deal, it's just reaming out a hole just a hair. Compared to what some of us have to do to make parts fit, it's not a big deal. I had to cut out all my front splash shield, part of the radiator support, a little of my floor, and cut into the factory harness to make my swap work. Not that big a deal.

I don't mean to make it a big deal. I'm not a big fan of hacking up the original parts. I'm just OCD like that.
For example, on my EVO. I ported and matched my intake manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo hotside, o2 housing, and throttle body. Instead of porting my original parts. I bought used parts from another EVO owner to port and I kept my original stuff unmodified. I like the flexibility to revert back to 100% original easily. I never tap into my stock harnesses and I plan carefully to not ever have to do so.
