So a month ago I replaced lower control arm bushings, now my clutch is slipping and when I downshift while slowing down, the transmission starts to emit a humming/winding noise.

The humming, I'm assuming, is coming from the throwout bearing, so I got the whole clutch kit. The clutch kit comes with the standard stuff:

-Pressure Plate
-Clutch
-Clutch Bearing
-Pilot Bearing
-Adjustment tool (Didn't come in the box, so I will have to hit up Autozone again tomorrow)

Basically my Haynes manual molded because the trunk seal was leaking water. So I want to know if I can get a manual for my car somewhere online for free. I'm trying to save money, hence why I'm doing this pain in the *** job myself.

It's not the "throwout bearing" making that noise, but it sounds like you needed a clutch kit anyway.

You're going to have to open the transmission for an inspection of its internal components.

Edit: Does it make these noises during acceleration too? /edit



Just curious.. Does the noise go away when you press the clutch pedal to the floor, then come back after you let the clutch pedal back up? And had you been hearing a "hissing" noise prior to all of this happening? What about any "rattling" or "clicking" noises?
