I have a 88 hatch with a mpfi swap the last week or so my car will start for bout 1-2 sec then sputter out and die. If I rev it up rite as it starts it will run fine I usaly have to try a few times to get. It to actuly stay on. Any ideas iv cheched all my vacumelines like 5 times and checked all my electrica connections

 

Fuel delivery problem it sounds like, or maybe your TB is stuck closed.

 

I can hear the fuel pump kicking on I'm kinda thinking maby fuel filter but idk ill prob justt change both and see what happens

 

You should hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see if the pressure dies out when the car does.if t does,this will tell you the fuel pump is bad or weak.
Could also possibly be an injector drizzling fuel instead of misting it out.pop them out and see if the fuel comes out of them as it should.

I would also keep the ignition switch in mind.if the start contact is bad on it,it would possibly start and then die out as soon as it runs

 

Is this a low idle problem?

Any CEL codes?

 

Ya I think its 1 of the sensors cuz fuel pressure checked out fine and it runs normal once I get it to stay running. It does tro a cel once in awhile but it only stays on for like 2sec then clears its self so I don't have time to see what its for

 

Have you cleaned the IACV?

 

No I have not cleaned it yet I'm doing that first thing in the morning tho

 

map sensor mine if it comes unplugged will either die or run at like 150 rpms
