My Accord is leaking oil, so I was looking to see where there might be an oil leak, and I found some oil around the base of this part



Is this a part that is prone to leak oil, or is just a coincidence that there was oil there? Any help on locating the oil leak is also appreciated if possible

 

looks like a vtec solenoid

 

Vtec solenoid, there is an o-ring type gasket involved iirc. very easy to replace

 

 

there is also part number 10 in the following diagram

 

Ironic. I'm going to the dealership to buy that gasket for my leak right now.


The #10 part is a PITA to replace though.

 

Thank you guys! The faulty gasket was indeed part #12, the one 1991civiclx13 posted. It was cracked and letting oil seep out. I replaced it a few days ago so I'm trying to see if there's another leak elsewhere.
