Default Day at the dyno...

well today i was at Sleeper Motorsports out in San Bernardino for a little dyno day. it was my first time there and i was pretty happy with my results, but still lotsa room to work with. my best run was Max Power=173.0 and Max TORQUE=119.9. my setup is toda header, 2.5" testpipe, 2.5" jdm kakimoto exhaust and J's racing Intake. what kinda power is everyone else pushing with mild mods like this? i wanna hit in the high 170's. anybody have suggestions? Hondata, Vafc, cam gears?

the j's intake seemed to do well, but since this was my first time at dyno, i donno what my other numbers could have looked like. anybody wanna lend me an aem next time i go? hehe. someone else from the boards was there with a PY itr. his was pretty much stock except for a spoon filter and spoon muffler. he put down 160whp. so yea, i'm pleased with my results but always room for improvement.

I would say the number is very good, since you don't have any tuning done with it.

IS ur ECU stock?

dont u get a check engine light with the 2.5 test pipe?

doesnt that cause a run rich condition, which sometimes makes hondas run better with mods?

I thought stock was around 165whp? Is stock power closer to 160?

yup i getta CEL wiht my tp. and yes i run SUPER rich, i'll post pics of the dyno chart. stock R's pull anywhere between high 150's-mid 160's? this is just from looking at stock R dyno charts and what people post.

seems kinda low with those sort of mods....I hit 178hp with USDM Mugen headers, stock catback, and AEM intake. Seems like you could probably benefit nicely with some fuel/timing tuning with a VTEC or Hondata setup.

Every dyno is different so numbers mean almost nothing.
