Default GSR starting and running problem?!?!

Ok so I just rebuilt my 1997 civic with a gsr swap and it gave me the 6 code which is the crankshaft position sensor, I bought one but the plugin doesnt match any of them, It wont rev past 5k and it starts hard but runs fine until 5k then it like sputters no matter how much gas you give it, do you think the wiring harness could have the stock ek civic plug in or what, do you even need the CPS? Any thoughts?

First thing, whatever shop did your engine swap, take your ride back. It might be you need a new wiring harness or an upgraded CPU or something else.

does it have the stock GSR intake manifold? That mani has extra plugs for the secondary butterfly valves in the intake that a stock Civic harness does not have, also are you running an OBD1 or 2 ecu and Distributor?

I bought the car swapped and I rebuilt it and now its giving me code 4 and 6 cel code and no the intake mani isnt stock and the ecu was tuned by Dkgoodrich in kentucky, i think its the crankshaft speed sensor in the distributor not the one on the oil pump because i dont think it ever had one. It has a OBD1 ecu and i think obd1 distributor. My ecu says p06 and my distributor button says p06 but the actual coil says p08 lol

pluging the OBD1 system in to a OBD2 connector is the easy part you just do what i did and get a track harness and jump it thru that to the ecu you just have to know what your doing when you do it
