egr cleaning?

Icon2 egr cleaning?

so when i clean my egr ports do i just spray carb cleaner in the ports and leave it or do i need to wipe the ports out after im done?

Always wipe it as clean as you can. You don't want that carbon moving around in the engine. Let it soak before wiping if you have to.

Ideally, you'd like to have the intake manifold off so that you can do a completely and totally thorough cleaning with brake cleaner of it all when you pull the plugs and do the ports. This would mean getting new upper plenum gaskets and throttle body gasket and just taking it all apart so you can spray the eff out of it.

Also eliminates the risk of metal shavings from drilling the plugs from getting into the intake ports.
