Default 60a Fusible Link Blown

I am redoing my engine/dash harness on my 1990 crx si with a b18 swap. I wanted to test the dash to see if I wired it in correctly "lights etc" so I connected the battery and blew the 60a fusible link in the engine bay box. I have all the grounds on the dash harness on. Do I have to have the engine harness on as well and grounded before I test it?

Does it blow with the key off? If so, check the large alternator wire.

So only the battery is connected to the hood fuse box? Check for a short to ground in the hood fuse box. Does removal of all hood fuse box fuses except the 60A one prevent it from blowing?

Havent checked that yet, ran out of fuses lol.. But I have a 4ga from battery to starter, then 8ga from batt to fuse panel. Batt is grounded and fuse panel is grounded to the thermo housing. No key in when it blows either just happens as soon as I put the neg cable on.

That's the problem. You have the alternator wire grounded. Remove that wire until you are ready to hook up the alternator. Nothing from the hood fuse box should be directly grounded.
