93 Ex EJ1 Wont Start!
I had the car on yesterday running perfectly fine i was listing to music then it just randomely turned off, i thought i ran outta gas cuz it was on E, then i tried turning it back on and it didnt crank, so i put a gallon and the fuel pump turned on and still no crank, i tried jump starting and still no crank just battery clicking, what could it be??? i was also playing with the kill switch which is grounded to my starter it turned off then i connected it turned back on, then after that like 10 mins later thats when it just stayed off, i need help on this ASAP cuz i just got the insurance for the car thinking im gunna use then this crap happens
that what acc?? the car was fine it was on then it just randomly turned off, i tried jumping it and nothing just battery clicking, so i switched the battery and it still didnt crank, im going to take my starter to auto zone and test it, i hope is bad cuz i dont want to find any mechanical problem
ACC is the accessory position of the key cylinder.
If the car randomly turned off then you have a battery/alternator issue; I wouldn't rule out spark or fuel but a power issue seems more likely. A bad starter will not cause the car to suddenly turn off.

but wouldnt the car stay on if the alternator was bad and the battery was connected? also even with a bad alternator the car should be able to crank, mine doesnt crank only thing u here is the fuel pump, right now i have a no crank no start issue, i was also on E then i put gas and still nothing

It turned off pretty quick, I tried turning it back on and it didn't crank, even with out gas it has to crank
As has been mentioned, try a bypass jump...

That may be a connection issue, either a main ground or main power connection, check, [redo] the main grounds, [batt. post and cable clamp, batt. to chassis and chassis to engine grounds].
Do the same with your main powers, [batt. post and cable clamp, batt. to starter motor, batt. to engine bay fuse box, alt. charge lead at alt. and engine bay fuse box and the main fuses] DO NOT just eyeball the above, disconnect/clean/reconnect. 94

try checking all your fuses
mine used to blow all the time and wouldnt allow me to crank over most likley cause is a ground wire but check your fuses first before anything

yeah i was checking some fuses so far the ones i checked are good, but today i went and check to try and see if it would to turn on, i heard clicking from the starter, all my wires are fine, i just know i gotta get a new starter ASAP and finish checking the fuse box

Did you try jumping the starter solenoid with the battery? The issue might be between the ignition and the starter and not the starter itself.
i havent had enough time to check completely and start going thru the car, since i work at 1, but saturday i have the whole day to work on it, but im for sure checking my starter tomorrow
If the starter still just "clicks" when you tr the bypass jump, it is a contact problem, [in most cases] and is an easy cheap fix...

It sounds like the ignition switch.it can cause different variations of problems.for example, mine would show nothing on the dash, but would start and only stay running with the key held in start.for my brother, his would start, but CD player wouldn't work even though all fuses were OK..
If you want some steps on how you could try to diagnose it,let me know.I'd have to go crawl into my dash to pinpoint the wires unless fcm a.k.a. the human manual can step in.

If your smelling something burning, you have either a short or a connection problem.
When exactly do you smell the "burning" when key is turned on to acc, run or all the way to start? 94
