f23 into D16?
Hello Honda Tech community, after lurking for a while on and off, I've had to make an account. I'd like to head swap a vtec into my non-vtec 99 civic ej6. After going to the local upullit all they had were the f23's on 98 accords. I've searched and cannot find if it's even humanly possible to do some sort of frankenstein head swap onto a d16 block without fail. Would it work? -thanks

Why don't you just start by telling us what you are really trying to acheive. Then it might become a little more attractive to you, give a more feasable path to making more horsepower. Make sense hp as opposed to not-so-make sense hp. Get it?!
There is a lot you can do with what you have AND still have fun,,, to not have to step into high dollar swaps. As an example; you can get a lot of mileage out of a header, exhaust system and better filter. Plug in your suspension before going into the engine to deep. If it handles better, YOU wil have a better seat-of-your-pants feel with the car. Believe me.

but I understand what you're saying, I'm not looking for something that'll make it an 8 second car, but just something a little more fun than what I have haha
What's your suggestions for the swap? You seem to know what you're talking about. It's just the flat out d16y7 in the 99 civic lx. Should I bother with a head swap, or go full engine?
I'm looking to spend about a grand on an engine but then I'd like to get off the steelys soon though and get some wheels, then move into suspension. But it would seem fairly useless to look flashy with a really basic engine.

Yeah, that really doesn't seem feasible right now with starting school after graduation. Might as well wait and do it right instead of a **** poor job. An unrelated question though, after looking at your build, I really like the 3M carbon fiber vinyl, do you recommend it?
There's a d15z1 fairly close to my house. Is this even worth the look? http://buffalo.craigslist.org/pts/3472292438.html
