I really didnt know where to post this but engine management seemed like the better place. I really just need suggestions and a quick answer from all you tuning junkies lol. Ok i have a All Stock rebuilt 1992 integra gsr b17a1 with only 1500 miles on the motor and trans and my p61 ecu took a dump on me and im in search of what ecu to get sense my ecu is so rare and damn expensive when you find one around $275-350+.

I came across phearable.net and i can get an chipped obd1 vtec ecu for around $175 without shipping and comes with 2 step for free, cel shift light and adjustable vtec engagment where i plz. So sense my car is all stock besides a intake an exhaust would this be the easiest/cheapest solution?? Im pretty sure they want have a p61 ecu laying around to chip so they would prob send me a p30 or p28 or p72 converted to run just a stock b17a1 map besides the 2 step an shift light. would this be a good route?? If not what other stock ecu can i buy that will be a plug an play and have my engine running without any power loses ect. ect.????

Phearable is a good route to go. I would also consider just picking a virgin ecu for a B16. B16 and B17 should be very similar.

 

well i was thinking about going with a virgin ecu but i really dont know what ecu out of what motor will suit a b17a1 the best and still have power reliability and the best route to go. I dont know how a p30, pr3, or a p72 ecu would make my motor run. I dont want to lose any reliably or power ect ect using the wrong virgin ecu thats why i was considering using a Phearable ECU but idk how the car would run being stock but ive always want 2 step sense i got the car even tho i dont plan on doing any major mods sense this car is pretty rare in the honda scene and 2 step is a really nice feature and a cel shift light.

My buddy is a tuner back home and a moderator on H-T. 98vtec is his screen name. He currently has a 92 gsr with B17. He said he is using a p28 chipped with a p72 map. From what I have read, the b16a is a closer match than the 94-01 gsr b18c1 but I am only familiar with the b18c1. I would recommend shooting Blake(98vtec) a PM and asking what he recommends since he has a b17.
Phearable could also put the p61 map on a p28 for you.

There are actually 3-4 for under 250 on ebay. The one I linked to you, I would consider sending him a message before end of auction offering him what you feel comfortable spending for the ecu shipped. Say 50 bucks less than asking price so $150 shipped. I do this alot on ebay and get a lot of great deals because they usually just want the stuff gone!
