Default 2002 Accord, SE, Heated Seat not working

Good day all.

1st post on the forum. It's been a great help so far!

I own two 2002 Accord SE's, 4 cyl, 5 sp with Heated Seats.

Recently the Drivers Seat heater stopped working. The "Lo/High" lights on the console switches are "on", and I looked under the seat to ensure all wires were in good shape and connected. Also checked the 20A fuse under the hood and all is in great shape.

Can anyone tell me the configuration of the wiring, and what the MOST LIKELY issue is? Wondering if its a simple element, or relay, or or or....???

I checked the search function as well with no results, so I appologise if this has been answered elsewhere.

Thanks a tonne in advance!

Regards,

Ross

could be the switch or the heater element is open. Swap switches to test them. Since pass seat heater works, and relay is common to both driver's side and pass side, relay is good. If, after swapping switches, the trbl points to driver's seat, pull the seat and test connector for continuity between terminals 1 and 2 and 1 and 3. If you don't have continuity the heater is open.

Thanks a lot for the advice.

If I remember correctly, there are only the 3 connectors under the seat? And are the two elements connected in Series?

TIA!

Not connected in series. 1 to 2 is for seat cushion, 1 to 3 is for seat back. You could also have an open in the harness wiring.

Good day again.

Discovered a burnt element (open circuit), as confirmed by a local Service Manager. Looking at OEM prices for the units etc, I was curious if there are aftermarket elements that you might know of?

Thoughts?

Thanks a tonne.

There are numerous aftermarket kits. Google to find.

slightly off topic, but the guy i got the car from, took leather seats from a V6 EX, 2001, the seats were never hooked up. I never need to move them I am the only one that drives the car.

My question is, how can I tell if they were heated seats or not?
