LS Manifold on a B20 swapped Integra - Horrible idle surge - Mysterious port?
Long title, I know but I am almost finished fixing up this Integra i picked up about 2 months ago.
The last thing left is this horrid idle surge. Car is a 1998 Integra GS (At ot MT swapped), B20 swapped with what appears to be a LS manifold. The car is having very bad idle issues, so I inspected all seals, cleaned IACV, and still nothing. The Intake manifold gasket was just a bunch of RTV slapped on there and I assumed that was the culprit.
Upon removing the Intake manifold, this is what I found. Can any point me in the correct direction here?
Here is the back of the head. Port in black circle is coolant, but what is the red circle for?

There was a black piece of foam or something shoved in there so I assume this is the cause for the vacuum leak? I ordered a Blox thermal Intake manifold gasket and the picture shows two holes for the gasket, too.
Here is a picture of the manifold.

Just a port for the coolant stuff.
Should I get a new manifold? block the hole off, leave it as it, put hondabond around it?
Hoping to have the car put back together tomorrow, so any advice is much appreciated!

Bump.
Confirmed I have a P75-2 head if that helps. Also, this is a B20b if that matters.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. I have a Blox IM gasket coming in the mail soon. IF it has the hole for the EGR port, should I just slap honda-bond around it to prevent a vacuum leak? Any other suggestions to make sure I don't have a surging idle after this? I really don't want to remove the IM again if I can prevent it.
Thanks. I guess I will just try and put honda-bond around the holes and pray that is works.
With the thermal gasket it will seal or should seal without Honda bond. Just make sure that thing is clean on the head and manifold.

A thin layer of honda-bond will probably be applied for a just in case measure. I can't see it hurting anything.
Thoughts on tapping it and blocking with a set screw? I am surprised I can't find anything on this port when a LS IM on a B20 is common. Hmmm

Reinstalled the IM, idle still surges but not as badly now. Can timing be off enough to cause something like this? I have a feeling the timing is off a tooth or so and haven't had a chance to check it with my timing light yet.
Bumping only because this was solved roughly 2 weeks ago and the issues have not come back. Anyone else has similar issues might benefit from it.
Pulled everything off the manifold (sensors/TB etc etc) and went over the gaskets. Used Honda-bond on some of the gaskets near the TB, too. The car had a FITV on the TB which did seem right since those were not around for 1998 Integras to my knowledge.
Decided to pull it apart, clean everything as per the FITV cleaning guide on this site. Once I put everything back together, car idled like a charm and has zero problems as far as motor health. The problem could have been a random gasket leaking, or the FITV.

I don't have any type of idle problem but I do have a popping noise when I shift or let go of gas thinking it may be vacuum leak, I was wondering did you order a ls manifold Gasket or a b20 manifold Gasket?
From my knowledge, the Ls and B20 have the same gasket. Gasket came with 2 holes.
Popping during decel sounds like a timing issue.

when i got the motor there wasnt any popping noise but i was looking at advance auto parts and there is a gasket with one hole illl link the 2 up to show

of course the b20 gasket would have 2 holes ^^^

ls manifold gasket which only has one hole^^
maybe the ls one would cover the hole better since it would be covered??

I am no longer having idle issues. Not sure if the hole on the head, the lack of a gasket on the IM prior to me owning the vehicle, or anything else could have caused it. The idle wasn't AS bad once the IM gasket was replaced, so something was wrong in there at least.
The FITV was probably the main reason for the idle issue. Car was a mess when i got it. Slowly working it back up to road worthy condition.
Something like this wouldn't cause popping under decel. That sounds like an ignition type issue. Spark plugs, wires, dist cap etc.
Good luck everything.
