H22A1 CEL 4 (CPS) issue
Okay guys, so about a week and a half ago my ecu started throwing cel code 4. I did a bit of research on this cel code and found out that the crank position sensor (or CPS) is located within the external distributors. I figured mine must've gone bad and I couldn't find any DIY replacement videos..
So I decided to buy a new external distributor altogether. When I received the dizzy I took the cap & rotor off and began my msd installation.. I:
- spliced two black/yel wires together and ran to pos (+) side of msd coil
- spliced green wire and ran to neg (-) side of msd coil
- set rotor facing towards #1 piston
- re-installed cap and distributor
reset ecu and checked for cel's.
Car will run, but very horribly.
Still I get the code for 4. How could this be?
