08 Civic SI electrical problems?
After work today i started my car and let it warm up for a good 10 minutes. when i went out to leave i noticed all my electronics were reset. i didnt think anything of it thinking my coworkers were playing a prank. but as i drove out my radio kept going out and coming back on. this had happened once before but it hasnt happened for a while.
as i got on the highway it was fine. and stayed fine until i hit traffic. then all my electronics blinked. then once my car died out for like 1 seconds and then jolt back on and my tires screeched cuz i had my foot on the gas pretty hard.
a little later down the road i turned my lights on and all my electronics including all the dash lights flashed on and off as if i was starting my car but the car didnt die or anytthing.
finally when i got home i shut off my car and as soon as i didnt i noticed all my electronics died. no lights worked. so i put my key back in the ignition and tried to start it and its completely dead. no click no nothing. i checked the battery cables and they are tight...
i have no idea where to start. i thought it might be the alternator but the car would at least turn over if it had gone. plus i have had similar problems before but they went away.
any ideas where to start?

It sounds like you have a loose electrical connection. If nothing works, all you need to do is find out which power source is common to all the components. Check the connections from the battery to the fuse block. If the car is completely dead, turn something on, and start wiggling some of the wires and harnesses, if the component you switched on turns on, you found the loose connection. Have your battery checked, or just replace it if its original. Let me know what you find.
Sounds like a grounding problem, redo your main grounds, [batt. post and cable clamp, batt. to chassis ground, and chassis to engine ground] DO NOT just eyeball the connections, disconnect/clean/reconnect.
The main grounds are the one thing that is common to all the electrical circuits in the car, so it is always the first thing to check.
While your at it, do the same with your main power connections, [pos.(+) batt. post and cable clamp, batt. to engine bay fuse box, main fuses in the engine bay fuse box, the same applies, DO NOT just eyeball the connections. 94
