Default KriegerEhre's 91 EF Hatch Build Thread

Hi everyone! Long time lurker first time poster. . . .

I'm not new to the EF world, I had one awhile back that had less than 103k miles on it and was new inside and out. . . .I owned it while I was modifying my LS1 Formula car.

^ stupid car

v way cooler car

Black bumper 4 speed D15. . .I miss this car.

I bought a new 5.0 mustang and sold it because I didn't need a daily driver. . .I missed my EF hatch though.

But, I'm not very interested in modding this thing at all.

So, this is the candidate she was originally a DX converted to a B20 non-vtech. Previous owner took out a fender and replaced it. But, later decided to put their setup in a cleaner CRX.

Plans are D16Z6 because I'm obsessed with the idea of a single cam EF.
Wire tuck engine bay.
Repainting the car Suzuka Blue
full frame up I've already proceeded with gutting and cataloging all the parts. We'll see where my mind takes me with this build at this point I just know color options and motor type.

I haven't had my chance to paint or build an EF. . .yet but I've spent years growing up building muscle cars the most recently being a 1971 dodge demon.

Soo, :D we'll see where this little hatch takes us!

His name is Hank the Honda btw. .

Also, I used my iPhone to snap the few first photos of this but as the build progresses I'll try to bring my DSLR out and get some decent shots of the build progression.

Alright well, these photos are also off of my iPhone but it shows the rough patches I'll be working through on this build.

First off the driver side fender seems rather beat up to save headaches I'll be finding a new one at the local junkyard.

the hood was damaged due to lack of knowledge on suspension by previous owner. . . .both sides are punctured like this. I'll try and salvage it, but I'll buy a new one if it calls for it.

Floors seem in good shape and the sides of the rear wheel wells show no rust around the areas were.

Frame seems in okay shape this is the current condition of the engine bay I plan to rip it to shreds and to shave/weld areas I really don't need.

Area were they beat up the frame to fit the alternator to the b20 that was installed.

Dash is in good shape as well has a slight crack but nothing I can't fix. I also plan to use a very high grade of interior paint in all faded and cracked areas after repairs.

this is kind of the shape of the console. . . :/ not happy about it but I'll do my best to repair whatever is broken.

there are seals and pieces that are pretty much in unsalvageable shape including the seals around the windshield I don't know if there's replacements we'll deal with it when we come to it.

Interior is shot, i'll be installing recaros later or some other race seat.

door panels are in good shape though HURRAY!!!

Next photos will be of the car stripped to pieces. . . .

I haven't really decided how far into the Z6 I'll get but from early discussions we're talking.

at this point I want to find a complete Z6 and then just tear into it. . . .

Eagle rods
wiesco pistons
possibly a custom delta cam of some kind?

Boosted on like a T3/T4 looking for 250-300hp.

I'm not building this car to be a race car really just a quick little street car.

So, I pulled all the interior out of the car today stopped because I need a hex drive and it was getting cold and windy.

My shopvac was also messed up today so excuse my mess!

Here's the car airing out I've pulled a lot of the car apart on the inside found out a few important things.

Door panels are off everything is super dusty because we live in west texas and everything is dusty. . . .

Everything in this car is in excellent shape!

here are some shots of the inside after having gutted most of the car the dash has a chuck missing out of it but I've already got a new dash for the car and a euro gauge cluster going in with RPM gauge.

Shop partner this is my co pilot on the build!

interior in the shop resting for when I come back to clean it up.

I apologize for the mess but this is our secondary shop, our other shop is were we do bigger builds and is a lot cleaner.

I'm building my honda in my free time.

On a secondary note almost finished building this 66 mustang fast back here's a sneak peek of it!!!

Also, went to our local toys for tots gtg after working on the honda tonight at the nissan dealership and ran into this beauty!

Build update: Snow hit us pretty good this past week, not to mention christmas holidays took up a chunk of time. wasn't able to move the car inside yet. . .

But! I've acquired a donor car for the parts I'll need to replace or any miscellaneous things that'll need repair!

I'll get pictures up when I get them!
