Bought my first Honda in 1993, a 91 CRX Si, and have owned at least one Honda and more at any given time since then. I usually like my cars clean, stock, and low miles, and no rust with original paint etc.
I guess just saying hi and joining, maybe I will win the lottery and be able to buy some mugen rims soon, i see a nice set on the ads that is why i joined.
I will be updating on how the red rebuild is going as i get more done on it. i did not think the CR-Z as worthy to own comparing to any 91 Si. The CR-Z had TERRIBLE C pillar blindspots and I mean that with a capital T in terrible, plus it only got 42mpg for my 4100 miles on ownership, the 91 si's get 39 mpg every day all day long, and handle and drive better, plus no blind spots at all.

damn man props on buying way low mile wrecks and fixing them. i wish i had time and money and know how to do all that. not even the fact you get some for pretty cheep. good luck on the red hatch ha and the lottery
So the EF rebuilder now has some progress to report
off with the white hatch, which was mainly on so i could drive the car back to iowa from Denver CO from the auction place. Also used the white one for the majority of rear panel fitment pulling beating etc.

on with the correct one i found last week at Pick N pull

I also bought the red filler piece from the car with the red hatch, since my paint job was so so on the white filler which is still slightly dented on the middle right side. Still have some fitting to do, before i put the good filler strip on. How do you like my color match on the filler. I painted it with a spray can i got from paintscratch.com
Some 1/4 panel massaging left....I have enough paint left to spot paint the 1/4 once I finish the body work. At least seeing the sprayed by me filler piece shown, I am in the right ballpark for matching "good enough" coming from a slight amateur. I can do the body work so it will not be noticeable. At least I am not battling any rust on this West car, I have been there on others, and learned to not mess with rusty ones when rust free ones are cheap. As the car sits, with 90k on the odo, I have about 1400 in it.
Of it gets warm again, I will heat gun off the DX and install the correct Si badge i saved off the original hatch.
The tails are not fastened in in the pic lol. still tweaking the hatch adjustment and weather seal fit, sledge hammer time lol
Anyone looking to buy a rust free white rear hatch window let me know. this is gonna be taking up space lol and I would rather sell it.
Goal will be to get this 100% by mid April and Daily drive it this spring and summer. Only -2 windchill today. Not working in a heated garage has been the slow thing.

Okay. Finally got some stuff more done on the damaged rear area.
I also, just learned for the next 3weeks or more, I am filling in for someone on a job, and the commute is 45 miles each way, so lets say 90 miles per day travel, of which my 85 Brat is not a enjoyable commuter. So I HAD to make some progress on this one.
I just changed oil the first time today. I was planning on using synthetic blend castrol, but I didn't have the correct weight, and after already draining it, just decided to use the normal castrol gtx I did luckily have.
Also, after getting it so the tailights fit (mostly), I have learned the exhaust leak is more than I thought, so I just got done ordering the Yonaka for it.
Here is how it sits today, have not got time to get the bondo started.

even though the car is not done, I will be driving it the way you see it. Still have some tweaks to do on the left side hatch, need to slot the hinge and slide it ahead a little, that will make it fit better, and also need to beat some more on the taillight panel.
I think i have about about 1350-1400 into it now. It did come with the other 2 HX wheels, but the one tire is leaking and the other is to the cords, so I used a couple 13" with good tires I had around, and figured what the heck, Subaru hubcap to be unique.

Have not got my garden hose out yet to do the leak test.......may not like what that test will show....or I may have done a decent job. Did pass my dollar bill seal test fairly well.

Have been asked by 2 different people locally in the last month if I wanted to sell it....
NOPE. But, I do have my brothers one for sale see the parts for sale thread on it.

Wow, the time has come to part with this great running Civic.
It was in storage under cover all winter since September before the first snow fell.
I came upon a CRX the other day for sale, and I couldnt refuse. Had to get a loan to get the CRX.
Well, after sitting all winter with the battery out, took the battery from my shelf in the house, installed, checked stuff over, and fired it right up.
Odometer is 102k actual original miles.
The rex I bought has worn out tires, so I am going to pull the Michelins from the red hatch and will keep the HX rims too.
It will come similar to the picture, 2 steelies with good tread, and 2 CRX Si oem wheels with pretty old tires that still hold air and run true.
It is all stock, except for the Yonaka exhaust, a panasonic AM/FM cassette, and the tinted rear 1/4 windows. The driver seat is like NEW perfect no wear. It was not ever smoked in, and the red paint is not faded, never had paintwork, but still in need of the left rear 1/4 damage which i never got around too.
I have a price in mind, but if someone is looking for a nice low mileage with ZERO rust ever, this is it. It will drive anywhere, of course if you bring your own wheels tires I can work even a better deal.
No test rides without cash in hand. I will meet up with you probably near where I work.
Has clean title, and the miles are really only 102k. I drove the car 13k miles or darn near, this past summer as a daily driver. my gas receipts will show 39mpg avg. Gosh i hate to get rid of such a nice one, but the loan for the CRX won't go away without doing this.
thanks.
I will post more current pics once i get tire thing swapped out again. My price is going to be dependent on a few things probably.
I have sold one of these on Ebay, and didn't like the process. So here we go. It's not perfect, but there are many things that are perfect on this car. I just looked at NADA classic car pricing, I am below the average retail.
I am really picky about things and will gladly go over any questions you have in detail.
