EGR Valve Sensor
Hey guys, working on my Accord 1998 LX.
Checked the check engine code and noticed it came up as P1491 I believe, which is the Insufficient EGR Valve Lift. The Haynes manual instructed to first check the contacts on the sensor to rule that out. Said to connect the 1st to the 3rd and the 1st to the 2nd to see if there's any continuity, there is none. I then checked contact 4 to 5 and there's continuity, so the guy who was checking it out with me told me that if there's still continuity then it's fine, but there WAS NONE on the contacts 1-2-3.
Should I chuck the sensor and grab a new one?

A little pricey if your note sure that is the actual problem (Paid about $60) for mine. I would check all vaccum lines first....believe it or not I had the same problem and made the same mistake only to find a tiny hole on the line where it attaches to the sensor on top. i cut it, and reattched...no more CEL.
Good Luck
