Anyone know what kind of goup this is? WARNING BIG PICS not for 56kers
These pics are from the passenger front. For some reason its pretty thick and dark black.
Im not sure if my brake lines are going bad or not, because it brakes just fine and the fluid level is normal. Its not leaking etc.
So Im lost as to what or where the cause is. Any input is appreciated.

In the second pic it looks like you have a 1/4" tear in your CV boot. That's something that would throw grease around in the wheel well.
dammit.. Thx
lol..is it pretty easy to replace the cv boot? the search function on here is pretty bad.thx again for the fast replies

new axles go for about 60 to 70 bucks...Just slap a new axle in there and cut yourself 1/2 of the work of replacing just the boot. Plus the rest of the old axle has seen some milage, i woild just replace the whole thing. But if your budget is tight, listen to ^^fcm the boot kit is around 14-20 bucks.
sweet, thanks guys.
Think I'll just get new axles since the car has 200k+ miles and not sure if the original owner changed them or not. I'll check to see how much it cost, dam this is a bad time to have to do all this.
But thanks again for all the help.

Any recommendations on boot? Oreilly has a limited lifetime warranty on their boots, or just get OEM?
Replacing the CV boots can be a huge pain in the ***. The first time I had torn boots, I replaced them, and spent a shitload of time doing it. The second time I had torn boots (on a different car), I just bought new axles.
replace the axel with a aftermarket one. makes no difference and is cheaper.
can we stop bumping this thread. we already figured his problem

^^LOL awesome, i called my mechanic, (different guy then usual) and he quoted me 125 for both axles to be replaced vs just replacing the cv boot. Since the driver side is completely dried of grease
.
I rather just pay that dude to do it. Less trouble for me. But thanks again for the help.
