Default seatbelt light issue/battery drain

when i got the car the buckle is missing the cover, and the connector is missing, and they also cut the connector off the harness too. could i just wire the two from the harness together, or wire in a inline fuse to it to make it think its buckled?

also i have a new battery in it, but i have a draw somewhere. is there a common cause that makes the battery drain over the course of a few days? alternator charges at 13.5v, and batt is brand new like i said. its a real annoying inconvenience. all help is appreciated. thanks.

i had a drain in my car. all i did was just disconnected the battery every time i parked it for anything longer than like a half hour. i know its the lazy way of doing it. but wiring is confusing and this works till you can figure it out.

Strange... my CRX has the same problem. Seatbelt lamp flashing and new battery drains. Coincidence?

and...

I was going to take it into honda anyway for the seatbelts... hopefully they'll just fix it for free under lifetime seatbelt warranty.

... and that disconnects power to the seatbelt circuits?

Seatbelt light only flashes when the car is on and running, not when it's off. Also noticed the door open light stays on. I don't see how it could drain the battery unless I have a wire grounded at a courtesy lamp, because the done lamp is switched off.

Apparently the problem is the seat belt unit shorting out and drawing power? I have an appointment at Honda tomorrow to check out the seatbelts under the lifetime warranty. I'll post results.

Maybe not a coincidence... I have nothing else staying on, alternator good, battery cable replaced... We'll see what happens.

New retractors on order for free... we'll see if that was the culprit.

did you pay a diag fee?
UPDATE
ok, after some poking and prodding around, i havent found anything that could possibly cause it....guy at work said it could be the alternator draining and killing it after it shuts off. who knows. i took the test light and disconnected my neg bat cable and put the test light in series and touched it to the neg post, and it lit up. so apparently i have something somewhere thats grounded. dunno where tho. so i attached the test light to the neg post again and checked the bjb(under hood fuse panel), and all my 20-30amp fuses lit up and so did the bolts holding wires etc. i dont know if thats normal on a honda. i work on diesels, and thats all im use to. all im asking for is a nudge in the right direction. thanks.
