1720 Board ECU NOTEC to VTEC CONVERSION
Here is a visual aid I made for anyone wanting to convert their notec ecu based on the 1720 ecu board to vtec. It's not a step by step but I think anyone capable of doing the conversion will get the gist of it. The secondary diagram listed for RM11 comes with the conversion kit if purchased from Moates. I used this most commonly on P05 and P06 ECU's. You do need to be careful though as some later p05/p06 were made on the 11FO board and require a different kit.

In my opinion the best place for anyone wanting to get into chipping and ECU electronics would be to become a member of PGMFI.org. Great site with a lot of great old school and new trend technical information.
The step by step info for this conversion is available on that site..... along with all the individual part numbers so you don't have to keep spending so much on kits.
as for the diodes, the 4001 is what I would suggest as it has lower peak voltage ratings. However both will work.
