d15b1 in 89 hatch problems
First I had forgot to connect something to the starter making the battery get very hot and giving no power to the car. that is now fixed.
Second, the car was cranking and flames were coming out of the exhaust manifold there is no headers on right now so we could literally see the flames. that is still a problem.
Third, the check engine light stays on when key is turned. First ecu was giving code 6 and 10 with flashing red light. I fixed those problems now the ecu doesnt flash red or give any codes. Check engine light still stays on after changing main relay. Also changed distributor. Car still does the same thing blowing fire out of the exhaust manifold and not starting it cranks though.
Any ideas one why the check engine light would stay on after the key is turned. Also what is causing the flames im guessing ignition timing I played with it but nothing still causing the flames to shoot out each cylinder.
Another thing I forgot to mention, spark plug 1 and 2 wires have spark but 3 and 4 dont. This is with the new dizzy.

ok so you changed the distributor, did you change the cap and/or rotor?
LITTLE flames come out the head on the exhaust side whenever there is no exhaust manifold on. Think about what happens inside an engine. COMBUSTION.
Where did you get the distributor from? if from autozone, return it and get your money back and go somewhere else. TRUST ME ON THIS.
