Had my alarm installed a few years ago and it seems like my back up batteries keep getting drained. I'm on my 3rd battery which is the power sonic 1212. Is there a reason my back up batteries keep getting drained? How long does the back up battery last if you don't drive the car for more than a few days? Does it only stay charged for about 20 hours if you don't drive the car? That's what I got from the technical specs of the battery. So, do I need to drive my car everyday for the backup battery to stay charged? Sometimes I don't drive my car for a few days at a time. I'm wondering if that's the problem.

Bring in your car and I'll install a new back up battery brain. The battery should stay charged. Your under warranty and plus I'll allway cover that. Only thing I think you might have a parastaic draw thats killing the car battery. If the main car battery is dying. Also if you have a sound system or a capacitor. The alarm will not be triggered of the back up battery till the sound system drains. The hood pin should cover the hood being open and set the alarm to full trigger. Then if the battery is unplugged the 520t will keep the alarm going off.

When can I come in des? I believe I do have a parasitic draw. it seems to be the clock/radio/cig lighter fuse as I've tested all the fuse and that came out to be the draw it seems.. I charged the back up battery back up to full charged state but it's been dropping down to voltage of 12.3 ish and going down more without anything connected to it after about 4 hours.
