So I recently bought this Integra, about 2 weeks ago. And I love it! The previous owner had sold B 18 C and swapped it B B 18 B with with a GSR head. LS/vtec. It has a first gen skunk 2 I.M. and 3inch downpiping. I'm not sure if it has any work done to the block or head, so I'm going to assume theyre both stock. I've heard from a lot of people that the ls/v can be really unreliable. I want to build this car so I can eventually boost it, and would like to make about 275 - 300 whp. What should I start upgrading/replacing so that this engine is reliable and strong. I don't plan on boosting it for a few months, I'm going to make a list and start on the small important things, but I need help with deciphering which parts those ate / what do I need to do (make stronger) before I boost it?

I just replaced my valve cover gasket, cam seal, vtec solenoid upper and lower gaskets, the upper portion of the vtec solenoid casting. I used permatex ultra black gasket silicone, ( http://www.permatex.com/products/pro...t-maker-detail )

I used the gasket silicone near the rounded portions of the gasket to ensure they're set correctly.


I flushed my oil thoroughly,and tomorrow I will do a fresh oil change and filter. I usr Castrol Edge Syntec. Full synthetic 10w30

its really nice man.exterior looks mean..hows that ls-v?is there a noticable difference from stock?ive been thinking of going ls-v with a b18a block/gsr head..but i dunno,i have a turbo anyways, so..lol.

Yeah man it runs strong. Definitely a big difference! I'm trying to go turbo. What are you running for turbo setup ?

Well my turbo isn't on yet,still need a fire ring and misc stuff,but I have most of it.an ex friend stole my $3000 turbonetics/drag/blitz turbo setup years ago...i never got to even use it,and it was brand new.all I really want is to get the experience I should have had...

i hope you plan on actually tuning it instead of using the FMU.

 

No sir I will not be tuning.everyone is so reliant on technology..psh..old days ftw.
I do however plan on upgrading my fuel system.

I helped a friend get his turbo on a stock b16 eg hatch and I did it the same as how I plan to do it.he is going on 4 years daily driving it and he beats the sh*t out of it.I don't race.I don't beat my car.it will be fine.

 

Damn, that's a pretty nice setup! Could I make a turbo setup for around $1200 or so?

To be honest dude,I probably spent less building my car AND getting this turbo kit.did it all for $1k give or take.of course,this is assuming you are doing your own labor like I did.

Be smart on eBay,and local deals etc is the best way to go when it comes to staying on the cheap and still having nice ****.
