I just bought my first Honda. 1999 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe. It's sweet, and has been garage kept and seems to be very pampered. 120k miles, just broken in.

Looking at the history report, the car was serviced on the regular at one particular honda dealership in a different city. I don't want to know anything about the previous owner, but I do want access to the service details in the database.

Are honda dealership service departments required to cooperate with each other? If I go to a different Honda dealership and ask for service, do they have access to the records from the other Honda dealership? That would be helpful it seems. And I'd like to know what has been done to the car.

You should be able to call, give them your vin and they should tell you what has been done.

 

I did that. But they were kind of vague and didn't let me see anything. And of course, recommended the dealer do a bunch of service.

It seems like there should be a network, where customers have that information available. Guess it's really not a Honda question either, but was thinking they might have some program I never heard of. Been driving GM all my life till now.
