There's no measure for that. It's worth whatever you sell it for. Next time post this type of question in the "value thread" at the top of the thread listings.

I think....

... you should have posted in this thread.
(Located 2nd sticky down from the top of the posts.)

Why?
Because your post has zero technical value.

Why not just spend the extra to get them painted? It's really not much, at all. When I got my EF repainted several years ago it was only like $150 extra to paint the door jambs. And this was/is a "real" base/clear paint job not Maaco or some such.

well the reason i didnt post this in the value thread is because you hardly get responses on anything in there. i had a question a while ago that i had like 10 posts on in a day then it got moved there and i havent had a comment about it since... so i just wanted to actually get a response on if it would drop the value or not, and the reason that i dont want to is because im doing it myself and sanding those out will be a pain. like im not planning to sell the car soon but i was just curious how much less any of you guys would pay if the car was painted like that

Depends on the person buying your car. IF they value your car as a piece of junk to begin with, then its not worth anything to begin with even if you see it as a prized car. Blue book values and current market prices should give u a clear indication of how much your car is really worth to other buyers. Don't fall under the assumption that your car will sell for a lot with a new paint job, a well running engine, or aftermarket Mods that will make it sell for more when its just junk!

WTH if you're doing it yourself why would you NOT just go ahead and do it right? It's not like the door jambs will have a bunch of damage or anything. In terms of sanding/prep work they'd actually be on the easier side

really? i thought that all the bends and corner type parts would make it a pain to sand. and im not looking to increase my cars value by painting it. i just am one to help learn how since this is my first car and i have basically been using it to learn. but i was debating the jams just because i thought it would take alot of time for something that would hardly be seen. i was just curoius if it would drop the value. but james if you say its easier side could you just let me know how? like it looks like it would be harder but i have never painted so i wouldnt really know. i just want to learn more

Yes. It will look like **** if you're not willing to put fourth the effort to do it properly. Common sense.

I agree. Cars with mismatched Jams look Terrible. Engine bay is another story, but the jambs is simply a must.

The jambs are easy in that they don't require a bunch of prep work. There shouldn't be any damage to speak of, and should really only require you to take off the clear coat. Basically "scuff" it up and paint. It's not like you need to take it down to the metal or anything. Yeah I guess the bends and corner type parts would be a little bit more time consuming but it's still not hard by any means. It's not like you're trying to sand the surface of Mars or something lol.
