NewBie HeRe!! new 2001 Type SH owner
hey ya'll! i recently purchased a 2001 black Type SH 5-sp, 140k mi, SUPER CLEAN interior, a few dings and dents, but the car rides fine! Check engine light is on, not sure why yet. Car is bone stock minus the HKS airfilter. Ive previous owned a 1992 Civic DelSol and then a few years later, traded it for a '94 black 1.6 DOHC VTEC which i missed dearly, but I do not know Hondas. I plan on using this car as my commuter. I am hoping to learn the differences between a H22 and F22.
btw, my other car is a mitsu eclipse gst w/ the evo16 turbo, but i've had nothing but reliability problems w/ it, car would randomly stall out at a red light, so random...it has gremlins inside!
Hoping the Prelude will help me reunite with my youth!

thanks man!
i want to get the smoked side marker lights to replace the yellows. and i am considering a carbon fiber hood (OEM style) since my hood has a bunch of small chips in it, and since my car is black. LOVE THIS CAR!

ATTS light will come on when the CEL is on as the ATTS is shut down for safety reasons. When you fix the CEL problem, the ATTS will resume normal operation. I have water in my trunk too...

Just did my egr and Your ATTS light will come and go over the years, knocking on wood right now but I'm over 220000 miles with ATTS still working fine. (same engine, trans and ATTS). When time comes, then maybe euro-r
Nice purchase! I have a 97 SH with 240K and i'm currently on original trans and motor. I did have to replace one of the oil pressure sensors on the ATTS unit. Other than that, it's a great car as long as you take care of it.
Yep just bought a 97. Water in my trunk as well. Bad valves so ill be doing a swap or rebuild soon. But I also LOVE my car. Any one in there right mind out sell the lemon I bought, but god I love it. I just keep tellin my self it's a project car
symptoms for the ATTS oil pressure sensor going out?? I haven't heard of this problem yet?

I just purchased a 99 Type SH back in April of last year. It had ~155k on it when I purchased it, but it is in top notch shape. It makes for a great daily driver.
Here's a link to instructions on how to pull your CEL codes.

I think a common issue with preludes with this kind of mileage is the EGR ports getting clogged. I just recently had this issue on mine and it would keep popping up the CEL light. Cleaning the ports isn't difficult, but you do need some confidence in working on cars.

There are instructions available on the web for manually pulling your CEL code. For a Prelude with that many miles a common issue is the EGR ports getting clogged. I dealt with mine just a month or two ago. It's not a difficult repair, but some confidence in your car-working-on-abilities is required since you'll be drilling and messing around with the intake manifold.

Great car! I have the same but year 98 and just love it all the way. One thing bothers me is that the car likes to oversteer, not sure why!! Lastly i was thinking it could be because the back of the car is not as heavy as the front?? Do you know if yours oversteers?
