I have a 2002 civic auto trans with 90K kms. Car has been great untill recently. The last week when idiling at a light the cars rpms get really low and almost stall the car. I have just been putting it into Neutral and revving to avoid this. Yesterday the car was not getting any power from 1st to second and the trans seemed to slip or not engage. It got so bad that i had to pull over because the car wouldnt engage the gears or something. I had to pull over and restart the car and keep the gas peddle down to avoid any further problems. After this happend the check engine light came on, can anyone help me with this please. THanks in advance

 

What code came up for the CEL?

 

thanks for the reply, i have not put the OBD on the car because the CEL turned off after i put some gasline anti freeze in my tank. I dont know if this makes sense but i was told it might be water in my tank because i was driving with the gas light on for too long. the transmission sputtering and the idling issues seemd to have gone away? what are your thoughts on this?

 

My 1st 7th gen had similar issues. I got rid of it for them. So I won't be anymore help.
