Default Transmission lag from 1st to 2nd gear.

So I bought my brothers EM2 2002 Honda Civic EX Automatic. He was the original owner his transmission gave out at 228k. the car has been sitting for over a year. I just recently had the transmission rebuilt. at first the car shifts fine but after about 30 mins of driving when I'm at a stop, 1st gear lags to shift to second gear. It will go to abour 3500 - 4000rpm before shifting. It only does this after driving for a bit.

my question is my battery is pretty weak. never replaced the battery just jump started it a few times and it turns on. Could a bad battery cause my computer for my transmission to shift like that. ?

Well if your battery terminals look like mold colonies. Clean it off. I would question where you had it rebuilt.

well i replaced battery. I didn't have the correct battery in the car and the hood support rod was on my positive. I'm going to replace my shift solenoid hopefully that fixes that problem.

He's right. Tune up first to elimate a bug problem then work towards other problems.
