Default Short shifter durability in harsh climates?

Hey all, I've got a question for those of you running aftermarket shifters (short shifters most likely).

For anyone that has a shifter with metallic bushings (ball bearings or similar... this includes the skunk2 shifter, twm, mfactory etc) that's living in a harsh climate (cold, snow, salt on the roads, etc, basically harsh winter conditions), have you had any issues with the bearings corroding, seizing or anything else like that?

Maybe some of the vendors could put their two cents in as well? I know the shifter is protected by the heat shield that's supposed to be in there, but some snow/salt/water has to still be able to make its way in there.

Thanks!

im sure over time they will lock up just like any moving part in the salt. i would leave the stock shifter in before using a short throw.
