owned by a POS firebird #@!;*!
I was cruzin around town tonight and stopped at a red light when WHAM
It took a second, and I then realized I had just been rear admiraled
I got out and saw a 1990ish 3-tone (rust/primer/blue) firebird sitting against my poor Rs rear bumper. The guy, sporting a big handlebar mustache (a la Lannee Macdonald if you know hockey players) leans out his window and in a sleepy slurry voice
he asked me if there is any damage. I said hell yes and that I want his information. He says to pull over to exchange, but just in case I walked around back of his car to check his plate # first.
Good thing I did that because when I pulled ahead and over into a parking lot, sneaky Lannee pulled across 2 lanes of traffic and bolts down a side road. It was a one way road, so I couldn't go back against traffic to chase him (though I thought about it
I settled for phoning the cops and giving them the plate no and details, so hopefully they can kick his *** for me. I have to go in tomorrow to file a police report.
The good news is, that despite a fairly hard hit, there is almost no visible dent to the bumper (maybe its bent underneath the cover, but you can't tell). The paint needs some repairing, but its really just a **** off.
I love my new R too much
, this **** didn't happen to me when I drove a boring *** Civic
One other non-ITR bit of venting: F'ing terrorists in Bali!!!! F'ing terrorists everywhere!!! Send them and car thieves to the bottom of the sea.

Tough luck dude.
If hit on directly, the rear bumper is pretty resilient. I've gotten bumped at very low speeds twice and once by a UPS truck with almost no visible damage.

Dude, this scumbag hitting someone and running off like that was extremely uncool, and an unfortunate incident, but nothing I can think of is justification for insurance fraud.
When you scam the insurance company you don't really hurt him; you hurt the insurance company. And they pass that hurt along to everybody who buys car insurance. Us, in other words.
Insurance fraud is
regardless of circumstances.
Hopefully the booger-eating dickweed in the Firebird has insurance.
