Would be nice to actually SEE the Si model and not just the Touring model. The Touring model, to me, looks like every other car in it's class, doesn't stand out at all. Looks better than the 2012 but it just doesn't have anything to make it stand out.

Perhaps the Si will be different.

No go on the '13. Honda has lost itself in whatever it is they are now going after. Same with Acura. Gone are the days.

Saw car today at the dealer it doesn't look like the touring in that it has different wheels. Interior was an upgrade compared to the 12 but the exterior is a little less attractive with all the chromed out sillyness. The 12 si photos were leaked on hondas twitter. The coupe is said to look the same where the sedan has a redesigned rear end (spoiler). I own a 12 si and it honestly is the exact same just some shiner parts here and there. Although I do want the spoiler off of the 13!!!

We will see soon enough if it fits on my 12 trunk.

Agreed^. I wonder how many '13 Si's Im going to put fresh sets of pistons and rings in @ less than 4000 miles like these '12s Hopefully they got it right by now. And whats up with the use of chrome now on the '13 vehicles? Not realy a fan.

Oh? Are the pistons and rings a common point of failure on the 2012's? What are the reasons behind that?

IMO, the excessive chrome treatment is Honda's desperate attempt to make the car look more upscale. IMO, it is overdone, and it shows that Honda is trying too hard. The interior upgrade was already very good and nearly completely rectified the cheap feeling of the 2012 cars. The chrome everywhere theme ruined it bit, especially at the trunk.

Yes. We've had 4 and I'm currently doing a set now. There is a tsb on it that's how ridiculous its gotten. Why is this? Probably another manufacturing defect. I wanted to make it a point to measure the rings and pistons but I realized I didn't care enough and just wanted the car done and out of my way.

Exactly why I could care less as to why the parts were defective. Even the service bulletin doesn't say. Unfortunately @ 846 miles... It's bs pay. But that's what the 2nd bay is for lol.

Easiest thing to do. Buy a 2013 Si, Swap a K20Z3 into it or a K24/Z3Frank and it's tons better

Don't care for it. Not that it's a bad car at all. Sure, we can point out all the differences and improvements, but the 9th Gen Civic is failed from the start as to what a Civic should be. It's not on the spec sheet, data, number or feel.

People (like us) used to dream about owning a Civic, wish for it, and think about what we would do with it. Does anyone desire the 2012-2013 Civic?

This is not the same question as to, is it a good car? Yes.

Would buy (for the wife), but the 9th Gen will not appear in my dreams.

I think they are much better then the 2012, a much needed refresh.. I really think honda has overused this body design tho. Yes we love it but we need a whole new re fresh kinda like what happened from 05-06. I test drove one of these and they actually ride slightly better then the 12s and have better noise cancellation. I would most definitely like to upgrade from my 07 sedan to one of these. Very nice cars.

They're getting so big. The compact class has changed so much. The days of go carts with 200hp are over.

One can blame magazines like Consumer Reports. They just did not get "greased" enough for a good review.

Read Feb issue of Automotive Magazine. There is a story about Edsel.

The car had great reviews from the press release. Time magazine said it suck ***** and look like a left nut.

People believed it. And Edsel never got a good start. The Edsel was a mid level brand between Ford and Lincoln. Edsel became jokes and rest it's history.

The result was Edsel dies two years later.

History does repeat, and Honda probably don't want to be a next victim.
