2013 6 speed auto fluid level check
How do you check the trans fluid level on the 2013 Accord with V6 (6 speed auto)? Engine running or engine off?
Some cars must be in neitral, some in park, most cars with engine running, but this dip stick is so short, I'm afraid, it will spray out if i pull the dipstick with it running.

My last two Hondas were designed to be checked with the engine off.
The manual says to take it to the dealer to have it checked. I wonder whether that's because people keep using other brands of transmission fluid which don't work correctly in Hondas. (I'm a stubborn "do-it-yourself" kind of guy who always learns the hard way; now I only use Honda brand transmission fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, and brake fluid in a Honda.)

I would rather than told you how to check the fluid rather than saying take it to your dealer....
So, does anyone have a 6 speed automatic Honda/Acura that has an owner's manual that has the steps to check the fluid level?
(the 2013 Accord's manual says to check with the dealer, but the dealer told me two different asnwers and so I want to see Honda documentation in this)

You should check only after the car has warmed up to operating temp. Make sure its turned off first to get the correct reading and do a few readings like how you do your oil.
If your running low I suggest visiting a dealer and getting it refilled since sometimes they will do it for free especially if you bought it at their place and it could be due to a leak which would be repaired under warranty.
