How to adjust dash brightness
So I just bought a 1997 JDM Accord CF4, and the instrument cluster appaars to be set quite dim. I can't find anyway to adjust it; the trip meter button doesn't turn and I can't find any other ***** anywhere. Being JDM the Japanese manual has obviously been discarded at some point so I don't have that. Internet searching hasn't netted me anything beyond turning the trip meter button (which doesn't turn).
Anyone got any idea?

Not sure about the JDM version of the Accord but there should be a dimmer switch on the dash next to the steering wheel. I know in the North American Accords it is a push in and rotary dial switch. You push in on it and the dial pops out for adjustment. Then you push it back in and it stays flush with the dash.
Could look something like this;

It's not part of the gauge cluster. It would be found on it's own somewhere on the dash or center console along with the other switches.

Yeah I've searched the entire dash from foot well to windscreen. The only buttons or dials are the hazard lights and power steering adjuster.

Well I guess it remains a mystery then. I don't believe that it would be impossible to adjust, but there really doesn't seem to be any obvious way of doing it.
Cheers.

It could be right in front of you but cannot see it due to your angle of sight or the decal has worn off.

The trip meter button does not turn. The only thing that comes to mind is that it might be inside that TV/NAV system. But that would be fairly average since its been disabled cos it was complaining about no TV reception (different frequencies here)
Interesting one isn't it... Turns out that there's a company here that, since we have so many JDM imports, translates the owners manual into English and re-sells them. Might pick one of them up, even if it doesn't help it wouldn't be a bad thing to have.
