power supply???
I have a 2001 Accord Ex v6. My power seat fell back and will not stay up and my alternator may/may not be an issue. My car got real sluggish, started making a screaming noise and all my dash lights came on. It was suggested to me that it is my electric power supply that is the issue. I tried to Google it and have come up empty. I really know nothing about cars. Can someone please help me by telling me what parts this would involve???
the saet is most likely a separate issue than the power issues. the power issues do sound like an alternator gone bad, but unless you are comfortable under the hood you are best off seeing a trusted mechaninc.
x2 on taking it to a mechanic.
Only times that I have seen a car quit like that it was because of the alternator and battery both being dead. Although it wasn't usually accompanied by a screech out of know where. There were usually a few days of screeching leading up to the blet/alternators demise.
The screech sound and all of the dash lights going out sounds a lot like a broken/worn alternator belt Or it could be worse and the timing belt may have let go. You will have to look under the hood to find out for sure.
So the parts required could be as easy as a battery, alternator and accessory belt. Or it could mean a timing belt and more parts and labour. Nether of which is something that a person with no knowledge of cars will be able to fix themselves. Best to have a professional look at it.
