Intermittent Loss of Power
I did a search before I posted and nothing really helped.
I have a 96 Accord LX, auto with about 265,000 miles on the odometer. I've recently replaced the battery, alternator, plugs, wires, rotor, cap so we can probably rule those things out.
I was on the highway going about 70mph when my radio cut out and my car seem to lose power for a split second. I noticed my voltage guage was floating between 12-14v and my dash lights were pulsating. I think I was running on alternator power at that time. I made it to my destination and turned my car off and tried to restart.. The car was completely dead. no interior light, no power door locks, absolutely no power!
I pop the hood and check the battery and alterntor connections. All good and tight.
I get back in the car and it starts up fine.
On my way home I notice the voltage gauge started bouncing around again. As I'm driving, my car loses power for a split second again. My headlight went black as well as everything else but power immediately came back.
I've done a little research but still have questions.
Would a defective coil or ignitor cause this type of symptoms? I've never had to replace it. With 265K miles, it may be about that time.
I appreciate any suggestions you guys may have. Thank you in advance.

Re: (TheMuffinMan)
if anyone had recently worked on the fuse panel under the hood it could also be the positive lead loose and bouncing up and down intermittently.....long shot but worth a check
