No Spark Please help
Whatz up everyone so like the title says i am having a problem with my 4 door. just to give u a backround its a 97 ls 4 door auto. did rhd conversion and is now manuel with jdm b20. car has been running till the other day i turned it off when i went back to start it it would start. it does crank over but not getting spark. checked all fuses and replaced one that didnt look to good. swapped dizzy with oher one and still no spark. did the ecu jump and getting a code 17 for vss and nuthing else. i sanded down all grounds and re connected. swapped spark plugs and wires and re did timing. still only cranking and no spark. i dont have another ecu to test to see if mine is dead. does anyone have any other sugestions?

is the main relay clicking when you put the car in acc II?fuel pump priming?
check for 12v to the blk/ylw wire going to the dizzy,if no power,id say its either the main relay or the ignition switch.

yea fuel pump kicks on and is getting fuel took off cap and rotor spinning like it should i did swap the main relay also just incase. havent checked the ignition switch yet will it be diffent for a jdm switch?
if you do not have 12v at the ylw/blk wire going to the dizzy, then it will most likely be the main relay, ignition switch,or in rare cases, the ecu or some crazy electrical issue...

Op,you havent even stated if you had 12v at the ylw/blk wire at the plug going to the dizzy.."In order to get anywhere, you have to start somewhere.."
newkid...I hope you dont go about "diagnosing" like that on a daily basis.you must be rich!
if he does not have 12v to the distributor ylw/blk wire, the coil will have nothing to do with this.it will be the main relay, ignition switch,or in rare cases, the ecu or some electrical issue.
however,if there is 12v to the ylw/blk wire to the distributor, then it will be something with the distributor internals,or anything from the dizzy to the spark plugs.

Although I agree with JuicedUpRice , a correction, it is a black with a yellow tracer, [black/yellow] not a yellow with a black tracer, [yellow/black].
Also, no power on the black/yellow is either going to be an ign. switch problem or wiring, it will have nothing to do with the PGM-FI Main Relay, because the fuel pump primes, it indicates the PGM-FI Main Relay is working properly.
What I do agree with is, untill OP confirms that there is, [or is not] power on the black/yellow lead going to the distributor assembly when the ign. switch is in BOTH the run and start positions, we are just guessing. 94

do you have a multimeter to test voltage? if you have access to one, or even a test light, that would really help in diagnosing whats up.
hmm if I were you. I would start at the battery, then grounds (especially g101 (thermostat ground) and valve cover) , plugs, check spark, then coil and igniter. That should be all that should be considered in this matter. As you say you checked your fuses and main relay. If your main relay is clicking, you can rule out G101, and the relay itself, and fuses and the ecu. I WOULD SAY YOUR PROBLEM IS IN THE DIZZY. I know you swapped it, but don't overlook it. Just because it was working in someone elses does not mean it will work in yours. Think logically, dont just start throwing parts at the car. You'll save a ton of money and time. Good luck! P.S. TAKE YOUR IGNITER TO AUTOZONE TO HAVE IT TESTED. WILL TAKE 10 min out of your day and save you one hell of a diagnosis plus it's free.
thast where i am stuck my multimeter broke so i can test the wires i called the shop who did the wiring and they sad there gonna fix it. i did replace the coil and the icm in the old dizzy just to be sure, and still got nuthing. everything was replaced but i dont know where it could have been all ground were cleaned and re put, swapped all fuses anyway, did wires cap rotor plugs ect. and still nuthing. only thing i can think is that this place messed up the wiring. it was auto to manuel and rhd converted so it could be couple wiring problems i guess. has anyone had this issue with rhd auto to manuel swaps?
