Default Clicking/ticking noise under braking from one wheel

I have searched and read lots of things about the clicking and ticking from the rear wheels. I have read about the axle nut and the brake pads. I don't want to get flamed for not searching, because I have searched. I just can't seem to find anyone that has had the same exact problem as me.

So about 3000 miles or so ago I replaced all four brakes and pads with cryo discs and hawk street pads. I have driven the car daily and I have driven it hard some through twisty roads. The car has performed flawlessly with no issues. Out of no where I started hearing this clicking noise under braking coming from the driver rear wheel. This happens at any speed somewhere between medium and hard braking. I can come to a stop or I can open the door and hear it driving down the road while braking. Once you let off the brake the clicking noise immediately stops. Reapply the brake and it comes right back. So what I have done so far is jack the car up and taken both rear tires off. I have looked for rocks and any other obstruction to no avail. I have looked at the pads and they seem nice and snug. I have turned the hub by hand and hear no noises. I had a friend come over to help me check it out. I started the car and put it in third gear and let out on the clutch. Then applied the brake gently while he listened to the sound. He had his head right over the brake and said that he didn't think it was coming from the brake at all. He said it sounded like it was on the axle or up toward the rear end. I have checked all the axle boots and they look good. Doesnt feel like there is any slop in there at all. I had him check the other side and he said he could still hear the noise, but it was not coming from the passenger side. How can I check the rear end? How can I check the axle? How can I eliminate the brake as an issue? Thoughts, questions, and comments are welcome. 2002 with 120k miles on it. Never had a single issue with the car in 6 years that I have had it until now.

i also have a sort of *sst-sst-sst-sst-sst-sst* sound around that area when i brake, ever sice my brake pads were installed.

idk, this sort of problem is hard to fix since it could be any number of things, and its hard to tell what's causing it without having the car moving, and impossible to have the car moving and braking while looking at it.
i also developed the same problem on my integra, where i would hear a ticking. the best i can say is i learned to deal with it, and turned my music. the braking isn't affected and everything is tightened up.

check to c if ur rear pads r in correctly. the rear pistons have an X going through then that u use to twist them back into the caliper. some(not sure if all) rear pads have these nipples on them and they r supposed to align into the X. if not the pad will not be coming in contact with the rotor evenly.

anyways this is what my problem was.
