How to check motor?
look at motor ,kick motor, pick up motor and drop it ...pick back up shake and check for rattling...
ok theres no way to "look" at the motor unless its taking apart and ALL MILLION PIECES MUST BE INSPECTED... the point is your buying a used motor its auto tranny means it hasn't been beaten on but! the motors a time bomb, any motor is..
the only things you can do without taking it apart is to turn the crank, crank turning = motor isnt seized up other wize GET SOME TOOLZ!

If its still in the car you can do a compression and leak down check this will tell you how heathy the motor is
you should read a constant number across the board and have minimal loss
