Best metal to weld?
So I have bought a integra for cheaper cause bad rust... Basically rust ate threw the metal on the bottom quarter panel on top of side skirt location I wanna weld a sheet of metal then bondo to fill the rest but my question is.... What kind of metal should I use and what thickness, and what type of weld like mig??? Please help wanna make the car look better for a paint job in a month.. Thanks
wow, based on these questions, you need alot more than simple answers...you need to learn the fundamentals of the most basic fabrication principles...spend a few days just researching. figuring out the different metals and where they are applied. how welders differ. sounds like you are undertaking something far beyond what you are currently capable of
research, then ask...otherwise you will only get bullshit answers

I like to cut up old panels to make patch panels. Like a beat to **** fender or hood. Use a mig welder but only spot weld and move all around. You will warp the thin metal if you just weld solid.

I woul also look at www.fixmyrust.com also you dont want to use normal bondo, get "kitty hair", its a fiberglass reinforced bondo type material but is water resistant.. When it drys tho its hard as a rock and takes some time to sand
