Cruise Control for 2000 Civic DX Auto ?
Searched and found the closets match not quite cutting it on a 99 Civic DX.
I need an after-market one installed today, can you recommend a top-rated Brand and Shop near the Folsom - Sacramento, CA area (95630 zip)?
Thanks,
Selvan

I know you need one in short order, and of course I'm going to recommend an OEM retrofit, but honestly I don't think any aftermarket one is better than the other. I've heard about Rostra, it's a popular brand. What does Google have to say? (And not just for Civics, other vehicles also.)
What Google has to say? I don't get that, can you not access Google? I'm here to see what honda-tech has to say.
Yah, Rostra seems to be quite common, but @ $450 installed with only a 3/36k warranty at DealerWorks, I don't think so! Knowing my budget, I doubt a dealerRetro would work for me either.
Guess I'll have to use the brick/string route - for now anyway.

What I am asking is whether you have Googled "Rostra" to find peoples' experience with that brand of cruise control kit. There are more sources of information on Rostra than just here on H-T.
A OEM retrofit would not involve dealer new parts. Find a junkyard 6th Gen wreck with cruise control and remove necessary parts from that. Takes time and effort but it's a boat load cheaper than having someone else do it, not to mention a perfect fit!

Thanks, much appreciated. I did read through some threads here about doing just that but was prepared to just go out and get it done, but the prices, yikes!
Aside from this thread, Google did find it shipped for $200.
Guess, it's gonna have to wait a bit till I have more time to invest, there's recyclers up the wahzoo around here.
Thanks again.

Did you ever get the Rostra cruise control? If so, has it worked OK? Planning to get one for my 1991 Civic manual shift. Never thought about removing OEM parts from the recycler. Any place to give me directions so I know what exactly to remove?

Thanks deschlong. Found a Rostra that would fit. Distributor had to track down the correct one since Rostra no longer list the 91 Civic DX manual tran model in their published data. Installation was a breeze and it worked perfectly on my recent 2400 mile round trip.
