Icon6 Minor Civic Mod/Improvement Suggestions?

Whatever little fixes or mods you've done that don't involve anything major, I wanna hear about.

Currently, I lack the funds to do the auto-to-manual conversion and GSR engine swap I've been wanting to do in my EX Sedan, but I've still got the urge to tinker, even if it's only on very insignificant changes.

Some things I've already noticed about my Civic: there has definitely got to be a better solution than using the space between the E brake and the passenger seat as a cup holder; for some reason, one of the hubcaps is from a Toyota; there's a bumper sticker which annoys me despite it not even being that noticeable; there's a college sticker on the inside of the rear window, but it's up high away from the defroster lines so I don't think removing it should be damaging in any way; the automatic shifter occasionally gets stuck locked while in the cold; the finish on the trunk is only matte while the rest of the car is glossy.

That list is only what I'll be looking into fiddling with for the start, so if you've got an idea to add, do tell.

Not looking to rice it up, just looking for minor functionality tweaks

I'd kill for an auto ex sedan in good shape over my 5 speed 94 Teg ls. best advice i can give is just go through the car and do the upkeep it needs.

Well that's a definite, I'm just looking for some little things to do that improve the general quality of the car, outside of improving hp, etc.

i miss my ex, rip......

you can modify a teg center console with the center storage to replace your center. it'll take a little bit of doing, and maybe a little modification on the storage box, but you can make it fit. then you'll have a cub holder and more storage. only problem is that your interior is blue (if that is your ex in your avatar) so you'll have to repaint the plastic, or just deal with the color.

your trunk is glossy cause the clear coat has chipped off. could just buff it up, and get someone to put a coat of poly, or clear on it.

grind your caliper downs, or put a spacer on and put some hx rims on it.

drop it, put a lip on.

umm do a full bushing replacement( rta, lcas, ect) and do your maintenance (fluids change, timing belt gaskets and other stuff you will be happier with this than anything else cheap if you are mechanicaly able

I've seen enough posts like this even in my brief time on HT to convince me to be sure to hold onto my baby and never let her go.

I'm not so sure it got that way from chipping since it's only the trunk, but the entire surface of it, that's matte. Either way, a coat of poly/clear would still most likely solve the problem.

Those do look nice on EFs, but I'm trying to stick to OEM parts, at least as far as the exterior is concerned.

I probably won't ever drop it, but putting a lip on is something worth looking into.

Thanks for the advice.

With relatives who run an auto body shop close by, the car is never lacking in proper maintenance. I don't know much about suspension myself, but I could ask my relatives for their input on how the current bushings are holding up.

I don't have pictures but, I put an obd1 d15b7 intake manifold on my obd0 Crx. You'll need the obd1 fuel rail and to take the black plastic thing off the injector clips and to also extend and mate some vacuum lines.
Everything else plugs right up!
I can tell ya my butt dyno says I gained a little power and the sound of the intake sucking in air is sooo much louder than stock lol.

^^the intake ports should be the same or if not bigger on the obd0 manifold if he wants a better flowing manifold he needs a z6 manifold or a sk2

Regarding the sticker the previous owner had placed on the inside of the rear window, just to be certain, since it was in the red area:

there is no possibility of the defroster lines being damaged, right?
The sticker was heated to the point of burning at some point though, so I wonder how that will impact how hard it is to get off.

I'm probably going to hold off on tinkering with the engine until I get the chance to swap in the engine I want, but thanks for the suggestion.

i didn't mean to let her go. wrecked her at an autocross event.

I'll have to look into that. What color are Integra consoles? That is my EX in my avatar, but the interior is a wine/burgundy color.

burgundy interior????? thought the white ones had the blue/black interior? saying that, integras have black, or tan.

that is oem, it's just that the HX rims have a super weird offset, and with your big brakes, they won't fit. also, you might some trouble fitting crx rims on cause of the same problem.

I probably won't ever drop it, but putting a lip on is something worth looking into.

it'll look nice with a slight drop, and lip, trust me. and for a lip, try looking into an old 88 accord lip. it will square up with your bumper and has HONDA engraved in it, or you could just go with the DA lip. the Si lip is okay too.

Thanks for the advice.

I don't know, but I do know that I like it much better than the blue/black interior. A black Integra console would probably fit in pretty decently as far as color coordination goes.

Don't know what I was thinking when I typed that... What I meant was that I'd prefer to do bolt-on changes if possible, only cutting into any preexisting parts if for the accommodation of something particularly worthwhile.

I'm more interested in cleaning up its appearance than making any statements, so it probably still won't ever be lowered. But bolting on a 1st gen Integra lip is a definite possibility; they just seems to dress EF sedans up so nicely while being very simple.

Also check out your front motor mount. Mine was completely shot. Simple replacement if you are handy with wrenches and now the car feels so much better (especially on the freeway).

I don't think the ports would be BIGGER on an hf head.
