92 Civic - steering acting a little weird
so i noticed a little wobble about a week ago and my steering was acting a little weird, when i looked i noticed the upper ball joints were a little past due on being changed. so i ordered them. did'nt receive them yet and when i was driving today i went into a left hand turn at like 30, in short it broke. the car pinned to the left, i fought back, after fighting to maintain control and dodging a car narrowly i ended up front end into the curb. drivers side. i bounced up onto the curb and there i stopped.
so im going to post pics of the damage tomorrow in the daylight but heres what i know.
the front bumper took most of the impact. i only hit the curb doing 5/10mph.
the core support that mounts to the front was higher than the curb and the actual front frame rail pushed in its all the way touching the headers. overall it looks like this front rail took most of the impact after the bumper.
im ready for a project. and i need to do it fast. the car drives fine. everything seems okay cept for that support. ill post pics in the morning and ill start the "Fix" thread. so. where should i start.
i know im going to need a new front bumper. heres what im planning. ill hook up a tow rope to another car and hook the other end of said rope to the towing points on the front of my car. then ill pull out the front end of the car slowly to as straight as i can.(measure it all out) then i plan on taking it to a shop and quickly welding some plates into the front to resupport those weakened areas.
is this a good plan. ideas ?
thanks.
Oh yeah. Always replace bad ball joints before upgrading to stiffer suspension

ive fixed something like this before and it came out pretty good, ive been doing some research and i think im going to pull out the front frame to straighten everything out to pretty close. then cut it off
well at least that whole front member. and go to a junkyard and pull another one off.
i mean the car drives. not even out of alignment. i know this is a support member but honestly i think it more just bent the danm thing in than did real damage. or any that i can see.
the hood still closes fine and latches its literally the bottom member
im gonna get out the trusty tape measure and see if theres any real damage tomorrow
does anyone know how much actual stress this bar handles ? because i was also considering just cutting it off and welding some box steel in there lol one side to another hahah
i know its gheeto to use a tow rope and do it that way but it works lol or at least will work for as much as i need

the actual bumper support took no damage. its unbent. i measured the wheel gaps and everythings straight
its the front frame rail where the damage is. and it is pretty substantial. ill post pics in two days when i have time to play with it. in the meantime i just got done hooking up the last of the electrical for my 92 jeep stroker im almost done with

the headlights just had the plastic bits snapped when the bumper came up. its all solid up there tho
it pushed it back to just before the headers. if i pull it out from the tow bar on the drivers side left i think i can get that main panel that faces foward straight. then ill cut off the front bit. and have a shop weld a new crossmember in
