Default Need helpful info on d15 vtec head swap

HT-I did a mpfi swap beginning of the year(from a ex 1.6L ONLY SWAPPED THE MANIFOLD,ECU,DISTRIBUTOR) i got a hold of a d15 vtec head, manifold, and whole harness. everything is there as far as the solenoid.

Can i use a stock PM6 ecu (not chipped) for vtec to engage?

Can i use the distributor from the 1.6l EX model(mpfi swap) for vtec head?

What is the wiring business that i need to do? I saw a obd0-obo1 vtec harness from rewire, would that work fro what i need to do?

I need a link cause I'm sure there is a write up fro this i can't seem to find it tho.

Anything that you would recommend to me from someone who has done and dealt with this?

Thank you for helpful feedback, if you plan on talking smack don't post it i don't want to see it, so don't waste your time.

PM6 ECU isn't VTEC. It'll run the engine without being chipped but it won't engage VTEC.

Please clarify what year Civic you are referring to when you reference 1.6l EX. Better yet clarify what specific engine you are pulling parts from. There is a big difference between 4th and 5th gen EX models.

Since you want to run the D15 vtec head then you are going to need a vtec ECU or a chipped/one-wire mod on your PM6 ECU.
Stock PM6 is possible, but it's really not worth it. You would need to wire in a RPM activated switch. However that woudl result in a lean fuel condition during vtec. Possible, but not worth it.

OBD1 with a proper vtec ECU is the way to go.
The jumper harness you mentioned is plug-and-play. It reassigns the engine harness wires to the proper location on the OBD1 ECU as well as adds necessary wiring for vtec and the 4 wire O2.

Also, which D15 vtec head did you get?
If you got the one with the 3 stage vtec then disregard everything I posted above.
My posting is for the single stage JDM D15 vtec.

All of my mpfi conversion was from a 91 civic ex 1.6l...i have a d15 with d16 intake manifold, distributor, and ecu pm6... I now need to upgrade to a vtec ecu?...can i use my current setup to run with a d15 vtec head? Would it run better with the 1.6 manifold or the 1.5 vtec manifold (which was off a 93 Civic d15 vtec)
Thanks

I have a hard time putting my thoughts in words so bare with me

If you have a vtec head and want to run vtec, then yes, your ECU needs to be capable of activating vtec.

Rywire sells several harnesses. If you want to run a vtec OBD1 ECU in your car, then you will need an OBD > OBD1 conversion harness.
