so i keep reading and searching online and it seems to me that crome free is pretty much a bait to get people to buy crome pro
am i wrong?
i have chipped ecu with datalogging setup
ostrich 2.0 and chip burner
wideband setup
and crome free
but it seems like theres not much to do in crome free without datalogging
i cant even use a wideband with crome free i have to use the logworks from innovative but it doesnt record RPM or any other parameters
and the hondalog was last updated in 4-5 years ago
looks like just a pain in the fn *** to use crome free
with 3-4 different programs that are not connected to eachother.

If you already have all of that hardware, all you need is a software license.
Check out these listings; Xenocron.com - Tuning Software
Crome Pro - $150
eCtune - $200
Neptune - $175 (not sure if this works with an Ostrich or not, may need a Demon)

Neptune works with ostrich. Spend the extra $25 and get Neptune, it's a solid investment.
Crome will **** you off, drive you crazy, and jeopardize your engine if you're not an experienced tuner.

Moates created the original RTP board for Neptune and I would assume that they would know what does and doesn't work with the software. The RTP board is no longer being produced and has been replaced by the Demon.
I remember reading that the Ostrich and Hulog do not contain the proper ROM security information to run Neptune. I haven't been able to connect to my ECU through Neptune. That being said I do not have a licensed copy, just the free download.

Tuning with Crome free and Freelog is crap!
But to answer your question. Yes Freelog can be used with a wideband O2 sensor.
I had to use Freelog one day last year and it worked with my LC-1 and a PLX units. All I can say is I was so happy to finally have the license error fixed and back to using the Crome with data logging.
Freelog is such a huge PITA! not to mention it takes so much longer to fine tune the maps that way.
Sell your Hulog and Ostrich and get a Neptune Demon package and call it a day!

Is there anything special to connect the mtx-l to freelog?
I have the logworks setup and it shows the graph. But i havent setup the freelog yet or ostrich
The car was tuned but i changed the distributor and now i belive the ignition timing is off so the afr is off on idle and part throttle.
Having a permanent wideband what would be a safe afr to lean it out at cruising.
Cruising on the freeway from 3000 ro 3500 rpm is where the 60-70mph is
I was thinking to lean out only that spot to give me best freeway mileage is that safe to do or not really?
Sorry for typos im on my cellphone.

Oh yeah..... sorry I completely forgot about that. You ether have to modify one of the ECU's circuits to be a 5v input. Or you could tune using the 0-3.8v that can be read through the stock narrow band circuit on D14.
With most wideband O2 sensors an output voltage of 3.8v would be on the lean end of the scale and would require adjustment anyway.
If you are looking to lean out AFR's for cruising. It is best to have some sort of knock detection or exhaust temp sensor just to verify that you aren't going to melt anything. Even at low load heat can be an issue.

Lol this is headache.
The only reason i havent switched to neptune is because of single hardware licence.
I chip ecus for my friends and burn chips.
And got this setup so i can road tune their and my cars. (Still learning)
What about connecting the wideband through usb com port.
Does neptune and crome pro have wideband input through usb?
Right now it jumps from 13.1 to 16.3 during warmup and idles at about 13.6
Part throttle is also allover the place.
It was tuned good and was 14.7 on the spot
but i changed the distributor from reman to oem
Changed the filter to vstack with k&n filter
from 2,25 exhaust to 2.5 with straight through muffler
And from stock fuel pump to walbro 190hp
After that the afrs are allover the place.
I got the kit so i can try to fix the ignition timing and fuel maps before taking it for a final dynotune.
Does crome free show target afr?
I couldnt find it anywhere

Crome Free - No
Crome Pro - No
Neptune - Yes
eCtune - Yes
As far as Crome Free showing target AFR's goes. Where that is a part of datalogging it does not show up in Crome Free. From what I remember Freelog has a target AFR table though.
I know how it is to want to tune multiple cars. I have done it with Crome a few times for friends. I don't charge them for the tunes so why should I have to pay for a license? I also realize that the people who crate the software should be paid for the cars that are running there ROMs. Now I tell people to purchase a license and I'll tune their cars for them.
It's pay for the individual licenses, become a registered tuner, or go the cheap way and deal with all of the headaches that go along with it.
NepTune will have an Ostrich version in the coming months. Try Crome and Freelog since that seems to be your main interest. If you don't end up liking Crome/Freelog consider upgrading to NepTune when it's available for Ostrich.
I use Crome Free and Freelog. It does take more effort than Crome pro but one day I'll upgrade and then I won't have to worry about switching platforms. Run the wideband through the stock O2 signal. This ensures that you see the O2 signal the way the ECU sees it. Crome free does pretty much what any basic tune needs for N/A and apparently mild boost.
If you have any trouble setting up Freelog post your questions back here.

Nice that will save me few bucks switching from crome to demon board
How is it gonna be licenced?
I hope its not gonna be a single chip licence
And is it gonna be limited in some way?

I use Crome free which has no limits on burning chip capability and also allows the use of an RTP such as the Ostrich. The Pro version does integrate the datalogging and has some cool datalogging features. The Pro also gives you access to the Crome Gold ROM which has some additional features not available on the stock ROMs.
Last time I checked Crome Pro doesn't have any license limits ether..... I have been using Crome Pro for 5 years now. There has been some issues but most of them are very easily rectified. The support for that software is still out there. You just have to know where to find it!

Does chipped ecu running in open loop still record data?
After i hooked up the ostrich the afrs seem to be more stable
I havent reset the ecu after puting new distributor and exhaust.
